Overtaking on a left turn

As I was approaching a left turn on my route, a line of vehicles formed behind me. There were numerous opportunities for them to pass me. After about half a mile, I signaled my left turn and moved over a little early before reaching the turning lane, as I was attempting to allow the vehicles to pass. The first two vehicles behind me overtook me before I reached the left turn lane and made the turn ahead of me in an unreasonably impatient and reckless manner.
