Car cut in front of cyclist

The car cut in front of me to turn left, knocking me off my bike. It came from behind and I had no chance to take evasive action - I didn't know what hit me. I fell hard onto the road in the middle of the intersection but my helmet saved me from serious injury or worse. It cracked in half, right the way through. I was badly bruised and shaken up and over a week later I'm still feeling it. The driver didn't stop but luckily the camera/light captured footage of the car and rego plates, which we handed to police. Have yet to hear if any charges have been made. It was essentially, a hit and run. I was wearing a high vis jacket but I suspect the idiot was trying to beat me to the intersection. Luckily bystanders stopped to help me and called emergency services.
